16 Tracks from The King of Soul including Redding’s first Stax single “These Arms of Mine”, “Try a Little Tenderness” which Rolling Stone named the 204^th greatest song of all time, “Hard to Handle” which was later famously covered by the Black Crowes, and “Respect” which was written by Redding and covered and rearranged by Aretha Franklin, resulting in her signature song.

Shortly before his death in a plane crash in 1967 at the age of 26, Redding wrote and recorded his iconic "(Sittin’ On) The Dock of The Bay” with Steve Cropper.  The song became the first posthumous number-one record on both the Billboard Hot 100  and R&B  charts.

Rolling Stone ranked Redding at number 21 on their list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and eighth on their list of the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time".
